The Evolving Venture Capital Investing Model– NVCA Webinar

The Wall Street of tomorrow is going to be a very different place than the one that investors and venture capitalists have known for the past 30 years. How will the continuing fundamental changes in the capital markets impact the model for venture capital investing in America and internationally?

The NVCA has brought together a panel of VC’s, an attorney, and an institutional LP to discuss how venture investing has evolved over the past decade from an industry characterized by firms mostly specialized in terms of sector, geography or stage of development to one that is increasingly expanding in order to take advantage of opportunities in new and emerging sectors, economies and regions.

Whether it is a firm applying its investment strategy to a new vertical, naturally taking advantage of earlier or later stage investment opportunities in its knowledge “sweet spot”, or opening an office abroad to seek international investments, there has been no shortage of ways to grow a maturing venture firm during this industry-wide evolution.

The panelists will debate the pros and cons of different expansion strategies, and I expect that there will be some twists and turns to the discussion given the radically different global financial market picture.
