CEO Compensation and the Founder Discount

Vcio_logo2 Our guest for the second episode of the VC-InsideOut Entrepreneur Series is Professor Noam Wasserman of the Harvard Business School.

In this interview, Pascal Levensohn questions Professor Wasserman about survey data revealing a widespread discount in cash compensation between CEO-founders and non-founder CEOs in private technology companies.  The discussion raises the potential for misalignment between CEOs and investors and  distinguishes between CEOs who act as “stewards” in comparison to “agent-CEOs”.

This podcast previews Professor Wasserman’s newest paper, which will be published in the October issue of the Academy of Management Journal.

Developed and produced by the investment professionals at Levensohn Venture Partners, a total of three VC-InsideOut episodes are now available for streaming and downloads on the web at www.VC-IO.com.
